Keep the Wheels Turning This Summer: Join Our Junior Road Rides
Do you love to ride? Sad that the NICA season is over?
Just because mountain bike season has wrapped up doesn’t mean the riding has to stop. This summer, Berkeley Bike Club Juniors invites riders to keep the wheels turning by joining us for a series of fun and welcoming road rides.
Road riding is a great way to build fitness, improve bike handling skills, and spend time with teammates and friends. Whether you’re looking for relaxed social rides, faster-paced group rides, or an opportunity to learn more about road racing, there’s a place for you.
Our junior rides are designed to help young cyclists gain confidence on the road while learning valuable group riding skills in a supportive environment. Along the way, riders will explore new routes, challenge themselves, and make new friends who share a passion for cycling.
Monday Evening Ride
Meet: 5:30 PM
Location: Bates Fields, Berkeley
Join us for a fun and mellow Pt. Richmond loop. This ride is a great opportunity to build fitness, practice group riding skills, and enjoy a summer evening on the bike. The pace is social and welcoming, making it a perfect ride for riders looking to gain more experience on the road.
Wednesday Juniors Ride
Meet: 4:30 PM
Location: Lafayette BART (South side, downhill towards town, near the construction area)
Every Wednesday, we’ll meet at Lafayette BART and ride out to Pleasanton PUC. This ride provides a great opportunity to develop endurance, learn paceline skills, and experience some of the best road riding routes in the East Bay.
Why Road Riding?
Road cycling offers a unique combination of fitness, adventure, and teamwork. Riders learn how to ride safely in groups, communicate effectively, manage pace and effort, and gain confidence handling their bikes in various situations.
We hope you’ll join us this summer and discover why road riding is one of the best ways to spend a summer on two wheels.
Bring your bike, bring a friend, and come ride with us!
