Looking Ahead to Berkeley Omnium 2027
Berkeley Omnium 2026 is in the books. And once again, this community showed up.
404 riders took the start at the Berkeley Hills Road Race.
283 starts at the Berkeley Streets Criterium the next day.
200+ volunteers made the entire weekend possible.
But the numbers only tell part of the story.
This Is Bigger Than Racing
From early morning course setup to the last rider crossing the line, what stood out most wasn’t just the racing. It was the people.
Kids lining up for their first race. Families out supporting all day. Volunteers giving their time to make it happen. Riders pushing themselves for something bigger than just results.
This is what Berkeley Omnium is about.
Not just a race weekend. A community effort to grow the sport the right way.
Supporting the Next Generation
At the core of Berkeley Omnium is one simple goal:
Invest in the future of cycling.
Every year, proceeds go toward supporting six East Bay high school MTB teams. These programs are building the next generation of riders — not just stronger athletes, but stronger communities.
We’ve also made it a priority to:
Grow women’s participation in racing
Create more opportunities for junior riders
Keep racing accessible for new riders entering the sport
Because if we don’t invest in the next generation, the sport doesn’t grow.
The Reality Behind the Event
Events like this don’t happen by accident.
They take months of planning, coordination with cities and agencies, and a huge amount of volunteer effort. Costs continue to rise from permits to traffic control and the margin to run events like this gets tighter every year.
In fact, parts of the weekend — especially the criterium — are run with minimal or no profit.
And that’s okay.
Because the goal has never been to maximize profit. The goal is to maximize impact.
But to continue growing, improving safety, and expanding opportunities, we need partners who believe in what we’re building.
Building 2027 — Together
We’re already planning for Berkeley Omnium 2027.
And we’re looking for sponsors and partners who want to be part of something meaningful.
This isn’t just about brand exposure.
It’s about:
Supporting youth cycling programs
Growing women’s racing
Investing in local community events
Helping sustain grassroots cycling in the Bay Area
Whether you’re a business, a brand, or an individual who believes in this mission. There’s a place for you here.
Let’s Build Something That Lasts
Berkeley Omnium exists because of the community behind it.
Riders.
Volunteers.
Sponsors.
Supporters.
If you’ve ever thought about giving back to the sport, supporting youth programs, or helping grow something meaningful in your local community, now is the time.
