Marin Ride ( LONGER THAN NORMAL RIDE LENGTH FROM PR ) - Saturday, July 15th - 8:45 am meetup, 9 am roll time
Come celebrate Morgan Griffin’s birthday!
What: This week, we’ll be riding a Marshall Wall loop by heading out over the RSR Bridge and turning north to Lucas Valley Rd through Nicasio before conquering Marshall Wall. The ride then turns down the coast to Point Reyes Station for a Coffee stop at Brickmaiden. The ride will finish by heading through Olema and back to Larkspur on Sir Francis Drake before crossing back over the bridge. From Point Richmond, the route is ~85 miles with ~5200 ft of climbing. We’ll regroup at various points, including Big Rock Deli, Marin French Cheese Co, Point Reyes Station, and Fairfax Coffee Roastery. The ride pace for the A group will be 16-18 mph average with faster bursts on some sections; for the B group will be 14-16 mph average, and C the group will be 13-15 mph average. You should be comfortable with group riding and have read and be familiar with the BBC Group Ride Guidelines. Ride leaders will be Morgan Griffin (A) and KC (B), and TBD (C) this week.
For those seeking a shorter route option, there are many options to cut the loop short such as Nicasio Valley Rd, Platform Bridge, or PRS w/o Marshall Wall.
Where/When: Meeting this Saturday at 8:45 am outside Maya Taqueria at Pt Richmond (plenty of parking available if you’re driving). We’ll roll from Point Richmond at 9 am sharp. C group will depart 5 minutes after A and B groups and will have its own regroups along the route.
Non-members are welcome to join up to three official BBC rides, but must agree to our waiver before each ride. After three rides, we ask that you join the club to continue attending rides (hopefully it’s an easy decision!). Please review the following guidelines and club etiquette prior to joining.
