Berkeley Omnium Raises $28,610 for Six East Bay NICA Teams

Stay True Cycle 2116 Vine St, Berkeley, CA 94709

The Berkeley Omnium is proud to announce that our 2026 event raised $28,610 in support of six East Bay NICA mountain bike teams, helping young athletes continue to develop their skills, confidence, and passion for cycling.

Recently, student-athletes, coaches, and team representatives gathered at Stay True Cycles for a special beneficiary check presentation and photo opportunity. The event celebrated not only the funds raised, but also the incredible partnership between racers, volunteers, sponsors, local businesses, and the broader cycling community that made this achievement possible.

The smiles on the faces of these young riders were a powerful reminder of what community-supported cycling can accomplish. Every registration, sponsorship, volunteer hour, and donation contributed directly to creating opportunities for the next generation of cyclists.

A Community Effort

The Berkeley Omnium has always been more than a race weekend. It is a community-driven event built by people who believe in supporting youth athletics, promoting healthy lifestyles, and growing the sport of cycling throughout the East Bay.

We extend our deepest gratitude to:

  • Our racers, who brought their energy and competitive spirit to the event.

  • Our volunteers, whose countless hours made the weekend possible.

  • Our sponsors and partners, whose generous support created a meaningful impact beyond the race itself.

  • Our spectators and community members, who continue to champion local cycling and youth development.

Because of your support, six East Bay NICA teams will have additional resources to help young athletes access equipment, coaching, race opportunities, and team programs.

Investing in the Future of Cycling

NICA programs do far more than teach mountain biking skills. They help young people build confidence, resilience, leadership, teamwork, and lifelong healthy habits. Supporting these athletes means investing in the future of our sport and our community.

The check presentation at Stay True Cycles was a celebration of that future. Seeing young riders proudly represent their teams reinforced why the Berkeley Omnium exists and why our mission continues to resonate with so many supporters.

Looking Ahead to 2027

Planning is already underway for the 2027 Berkeley Omnium, and we are excited to continue expanding our impact.

As we grow, we are actively seeking additional sponsors and community partners who share our commitment to youth development, cycling, and community engagement. Sponsorship opportunities provide meaningful visibility while directly supporting local student-athletes and grassroots cycling programs.

Organizations interested in partnering with the Berkeley Omnium for 2027 are encouraged to reach out and join us in building an even stronger event and an even greater impact for East Bay youth cycling.

Together, we raised $28,610 this year. Together, we can do even more in 2027.

Thank you for helping make the Berkeley Omnium a race with purpose.
