Saturday Marin Ride

Looking to add some diversity to your long weekend rides? Come join the Saturday Marin Ride, where the routes change every week, sometimes flatter and faster, sometimes more challenging, and the typical distance is 55 to 65 miles from Point Richmond. You should have previous group riding experience, be able to keep up with the pace of your chosen group and be familiar with the Group Ride Guidelines.

Non-members are welcome to join up to three official BBC rides, but must agree to our waiver before each ride. After three rides, we ask that you join the club to continue attending rides (hopefully it’s an easy decision!). Please review the following guidelines and club etiquette prior to joining.

The route is typically posted on Thursdays or earlier for longer or out-of-town ride.

  • Ride Leaders: Steve Schwartz, Morgan Griffin, KC, Meredith Nielsen, Hal Danielsen
  • Start: Every Saturday 8:45 a.m. at Maya Taqueria in Point Richmond, Rolling at 9 a.m. sharp
  • Regroups: Regroups will be noted in Slack posts or called out along the way.

A Group

Fast at times and mostly moderate. You should know the route and check to make sure everyone is still together every so often. Paceline when possible. Dropped riders may be picked up by the B.

Pace (avg): 15-17mph (hilly) or 17-19mph (flatter)

C Group

We appreciate a less intense ride than on some of the other BBC group rides. If this is your first time participating in a group ride, it's important to let the ride leader know.

Pace (avg): 12-14mph (hilly) or 13-15mph (flatter)

NOTE: There will not always be a C group until we have more ride leaders.

B Group

The B ride is a social ride with a challenging pace. There will be a chance to catch up with the A group and grab some refreshments. Riders should be fit enough to handle a sustained pace of 15 to 17 mph. Those who are having difficulty keeping up with the B group should wait for the C group.

Pace (avg): 13-15 (hilly) or 15-17mph (flatter)
